Jonathan Morgan is a Los Angeles–based violist immersed in adventurous classical and contemporary performance. Beyond solo work, he collaborates with international pop stars, indie singer-songwriters, feminist heavy metal bands, professional orchestras, choirs, string ensembles, and mixed groups of all kinds.

Los Angeles-based violist Jonathan Morgan & composer Nick Norton were near the 2014 Isla Vista shootings—a tragic event met with community unity. Norton quickly composed Elegy II, which premiered at a campus memorial. The solemn piece concludes with hope—an essential message amid ongoing violence.

Jonathan works with composers, performers, and producers for dynamic performances and recordings. He co-founded the Now Hear Ensemble, recording Made in California and the video for Florent Ghys’ 4 Bucolic Machines, and has been a guest musician with the Grammy-nominated Wild Up.
